This book is very detailed and has lots of places to fill it which is not so easily done on a Kindle app, but the reading content alone is invaluable if you are dealing with any kind of attachment issue which I found out through counseling that I am. I may go back at some point and fill in all the charts and answer all the questions, but for now I’m just reading through the text and gleaning valuable insights.

This book is a wealth of information. I will be using it regularly to better all the relationships in my life. It is a wonderful resource.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book provided by the publisher.

This workbook is not only a simple, accessible, and approachable handbook, but is also very practical. Attachment theory and its implications for relationships is front and center and written about – and written for – those who care about dynamics in human relationships. This book will help readers pay closer attention to the relational curriculum that has formed them. As a somewhat seemingly superficial aside, part of the book’s charm is its format, layout, font, and illustrations – each of which come in second behind its good content – but nonetheless, make the book both easy and appealing.

I am so impressed with this workbook – what a gem. This book breaks down attachment theory into pragmatic language and examples and has worthwhile scales and tools for assessment and really facilitates deep understanding and change for healthier personal functioning and relational dynamics. I am very impressed with this book and will use it personally and professionally in my own couples therapy practice. This author did an amazing job and I hope this resource gets all the positive praise and attention that it deserves.

I love the quizzes in this book and the fantastic explanation of attachment theory. This is very helpful for understanding myself and how to have healthy relationships.

  6. Carol L (verified owner)

Annie Chen has done a great job writing this book. The book has helpful self evaluative quizzes and worksheets to aid you in understanding you and your partner’s attachment style, it’s effects on the relationship, and practical ways to respond to each style. The paperback version is probably better suited for those who wish to record their answers.

I stumbled upon this book while researching attachment theory workbooks and pre-ordered it immediately. I was SO happy with what arrived! Sleek cover, insightful content, and the exercises are AWESOME. My partner and I have been working through the book and it’s been super helpful to identify and understand the impact of attachment types within our relationship. Do you take things super personally and form weird invisible contracts with people and need people to react a certain way? Then you might need this. You might not want to admit it because it comes with the stereotypes of “needy” and ” nosy” but what you need to do is acknowledge that you have a problem and that you are fixable. You aren’t broken.

  24. bugsbunnyshari (verified owner)

AlL my patients love it! Not just for attachment issues. It helps anxiety, OCD, ECT.

  25. Brittani (verified owner)

  26. Linda B (verified owner)

This was recommended to me by my psychologist. If you are asking yourself why do I have some problems with my relationships? current or otherwise, you will probably find this helpful. Especially if you can be honest with yourself. This is not a simple self help book. It will take some time and consideration. It is not hard to read but will require some looking within.

  27. Gabrielle K (verified owner)

I was crying reading this book because it was telling me things about myself that I never knew or even realized. It has helped me heal so much. This was my first time learning about attachment styles and I was absolutely shocked. I finished the entire workbook in a day, I could not put it down. I bought one for my significant other to work on. You don’t need a significant other to work on this workbook, but if you have one, it could drastically improve your relationship. I have read this book to two other people and they were so shocked to learn things about themselves that they bought it instantly. I’m not a big self help book person but if you’re going to buy one…BUY THIS ONE.

Working my way through this book with a borderline client. It has been helpful for identifying their type of attachment, education about the type of attachment style they have and things they should stay away from doing. Still working through this book but it has been a good purchase so far.

  35. Barry (verified owner)

Used the book for my partner and I. We found it sparked many interesting, meaningful conversations between us.

  36. Elijah Logozar (verified owner)

Good summaries! I especially liked the overview of typical fears and values behind the anxious-avoidant dynamic and the clear examples of what secure behavior/values look like. This book is very down-to-earth and helpful to read. A lot of the other attachment theory books that I’ve enjoyed focused more on technical explanations of dense concepts, and this one is easy to read and hopefully just as easy to apply on the road to ‘earned secure’ attachment with friends and possibly more.

  37. Kindle Customer Mary (verified owner)

Excellent book to understand yourself better and the behavior pattern of your partner or family/friends; and form more mindful way of interacting with others.

  41. Tiffany S. (verified owner)

If you are trying to figure out your attachment style and why relationships (romantic or platonic) aren’t lasting and you’re anxious about them then this workbook is for you. I know I have anxious attachment but this is helping me to dive deeper and is bringing up some past emotional traumas. You definitely have to breathe when doing this because it’s self reflection/shadow work. It’s a great tool along with the “Healing Journey” attachment book, although it’s written by a different author. Great investment in self healing

  42. Katie Lynn (verified owner)

Totally an amazing book – good activities and very helpful

  43. thomas vitale (verified owner)

Great book to figure out what type attachment you have. Will help identify certain traits and issues you or your partner may have and how to work with those issues. Really great thing to use long before you are having issues and refer back if you think there are isdues

  44. Destiny (verified owner)

    Non-biased, clear, and effective.

  45. Anthony Wehby (verified owner)

Ever had a breakup or have a relapse that is completely confusing to you? Seems great, then fades, for seemingly no reason? Or is hot and cold? Or your partner seems to start to withhold and withdraw while not really communicating what they are thinking/feeling and why? This book may help explain.

  46. Necessary Buys (verified owner)

You will have the opportunity to acknowledge things about yourself that may make you cry or nod your head “yes” to, but in the end, the exercises and words allow you to deepen understanding of oneself and those with whom you are in close relationship. Worth reading.

  47. Simone (verified owner)

I’m a therapist and I have been recommending this book to my patients. It has personally helped me too

  48. AcquaEve (verified owner)

Excellent information in this book and really helps you dive into where your behavior comes from. You can photo copy sheets before filing them out to have extras and there is a website you can print some off too.

  49. Munira (verified owner)

Perfect for coaching and anyone who’s interested to understand and resolve his attachment issues.
